If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, then you know that Sunday night is one of the last four episodes left in the series, and the most anticipated installment in this epic story to date. We’re finally going to see the highly anticipated battle for Winterfell between Danerys and Jon Snow’s coalition of allies and the Night King’s army of the undead.
The first two episodes have revolved solely around the purpose of building up this conflict, we’ve had reunions and stories tied off between the characters. These events, along with the show’s trend for killing off beloved characters, and the mere odds in the battle foreshadow that everyone’s not going to make it.
Here is who I believe will die in this Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones. There is no science here, just a list made up of some observations.
Jorah Mormont: Danery’s loyal, longtime protector has a tough post for the battle, and with only four episodes left, it’s hard to see writers give him much more screen time. This is one of my favorite characters, I hope I’m wrong here.
Brienne of Tarth: She’s protected the Stark ladies, turned Podrick into a warrior, and was knighted in the last episode by someone she adores. Having her go out fighting would be appropriate. If her name is called on Sunday, then it’s been a well fought journey.
Missandei: Her dialog with Grey worm was just screaming for a tragic end. You don’t get to make plans in Game of Thrones because they always go wrong. I do believe Grey worm will survive the battle and continue to lead whatever forces are left standing.
Beric Dondarrion: I believe his role in the story was to communicate to the Hound (who I believe will live), that role has been fulfilled and now he’s on borrowed time. We know there are no more resurrections for our fire sword wielding buddy.
Lyanna Mormont: She wants to fight, she’ll fight, and it won’t go well. Lyanna has a terrific following, and viewers have been calling for her character to get more screen time. Those calls won’t be answered with only four episodes left.
Jaime Lannister: When asked how he wanted to go out, Jaime Lannister told Bronn (In the arms of the woman I love). Easy to say Cersei, but I think it’s Brienne. Jamie has had one of the most incredible journeys in the show, and his death will add some tremendous weight to the battle.
The Night King: I’ve watched a lot of HBO shows, and they don’t always kill their main villain in the last episode. I believe the living will win the battle of Winterfell and the final battle will be a depleted Danerys army in Kings Landing against Cersei. Who will kill him? I’m expecting either Dany, Jon, or some magical event involving Bran.
I know this is a stretch, that’s why it wil be fun when I’m right.
