KFC using $5.49 fill up price point to stay competitive during the chicken sandwich wars

Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC, has been running ads for it’s $5.49 fill up deal, as Chik-Fil-A and Popeyes continue their 2020 chicken sandwich war, that we were all having fun observing before the Coronavirus pushed it’s way into all of our lives.

And the deal is still it’s biggest advantage as they try to shove their way back into the fast food chicken conversation.

For $5.49, you get two pieces of chicken, a side, a biscuit, and that important beverage which is being left off of a lot of value deals these days.

A similar combo will cost you close to $7 at Popeyes. A nugget deal meal runs about the same minus the biscuit at Chik-Fil-A.

If I were rich, I’d favor the product at Popeyes or Chik-Fil-A but I’m not. The KFC deal starts to get really competitive if you’re also hungrier than usual.

It’s these kinds of deals that keep KFC in the conversation of competitiveness, and we haven’t even brought up the rest of the crowded market and regional chicken franchises that have their own deals and signature products that can compete with the big boys.

The $5.49 deal at KFC is an FTR recommended buy. A full meal of well like traditional products for under six bucks. As long as the colonel can do that, he’ll always be in the fried chicken conversation.
