Shut the game off. It’s not worth finishing.
McDonald’s is introducing their spicy nuggets next month (story HERE) and perhaps the tiny edge that the competitors like Wendy’s and Burger King had with chicken is gone. And if you’re looking at higher priced options like Chik-Fil-A or other regional favorites, they can’t compete with the volume Ronald McDonald is pushing.
There are two questions that came to mind when I heard the news.
What took so long? And what kind of nugget are we getting?
For the first question, I don’t know. There has been a lot of fuss in the chicken game this year. Heck, I was talking about chicken yesterday (story HERE). You might be able to say that the reason it took so long was that McDonalds didn’t really need the bump. They’ve been the market leader for so long. Eventually, it could help bring back customers into the dining room when they’re ready.
As for the nugget itself. Will it keep that exterior? Other nuggets are pretty straight forward but McDonalds has had that exterior on it’s chicken for so long. It will be interesting to see how it will tastes.
But we’ll all be there. And the competition had better start looking for another draw. The chicken nugget game is over.
