Sadly, most 2020 National Chicken Wing Day deals aren’t worth your time and money

It’s National Chicken Wing Day! Whether you like drums or flats, blue cheese or ranch, sauced or dry, a great wing meal can really set off a great evening of sports and hanging out (story HERE).

Sadly, most of those deals aren’t worth your money this year.

Wing day deals should offer you, well… free wings. Many of the specials will allow you to purchase wings at a discount after you spend a minimum amount that exceeds the cost of a regular order.

Others are only small discounts or orders that won’t fill you up, and that are only eligible after you redeem them on their app that you won’t use again ever. Or double points on the app that you won’t use again..ever.

Basically, it’ wallet jiu-jitsu to get you in the door to spend more money.

Here are the deals I do like.

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s: Customers can double up on their wing order with Beef ‘O’ Brady’s offer. For example, if customers buy 5 wings, they will get five wings free.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Customers can receive 6 free wings with the purchase of any size order of wings. The deal is only available for dine-in or by ordering via phone for pickup at the local sports bar.

Hooters: The restaurant will offer customers dining in 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of any 10 wings at participating locations nationwide.

Your local “Mom and Pop”: Shop local. You’ll find many of your smaller restaurants are much more affordable and you’ll be supporting a local small business. And if you’re here in Green Bay, I’m almost positive you’ll find a better deal.

This year, I’ll be enjoying wings from my kitchen. Not only is it more affordable, but with COVID 19 out there you’d probably have a better time anyways.
