Carrie Underwood got snubbed at the Country Music Awards again and her fans weren’t happy

Musical historians may have to look back at the bloodlines between Carrie Underwood and CMA voters and wonder what the superstar or her ancestors ever did to upset the group, after being snubbed yet again on Wednesday night at the Country Music Awards on ABC.

At the end of the night, the Entertainer Of The Year award went to Eric Church instead of Underwood. This is after last year’s fiasco which saw the award go to Garth Brooks also yet again during a show that was dedicated to the accomplishment of women in the genre.

Brooks successfully reading the room, withdrew his name from consideration this year.

But Underwood still wasn’t given the honor. Neither was Miranda Lambert. In fact the CMAs haven’t given the award to a woman since Taylor Swift… In 2011.

Gabby Barrett was 11 years old.

These trends are well documented, but the concerns are over the precedent here (story HERE). What exactly does Carrie have to do to win the award?

And her fans were wondering the same thing..

This isn’t to say Eric Church isn’t deserving. And his remarks after winning proved once again he’s a class act. But the trail actually felt like it was going cold for Carrie. At this point it looks like Luke Combs will be next in line for the honor.

I guess we’ll have to wait for next year. The question is should Carrie and her fans even bother showing up?

  1. Carrie Underwood deserves the entertainer of the year award because

1 She did a tour with Maddie and Tae and Runaway June last year across the country and the US

2 she hasn’t won the award before
