Listen, I learned early on that I wasn’t going to be able to compete with some of you boys and girls in Call Of Duty: Warzone early. I can’t shoot and most of the time it felt like I had to hide to survive.
That’s when I decided to specialize. To concentrate on one useful aspect of the game and try to be the best at that. In the past I’ve always been a great driver/pilot. GTA, Forza, even Warthog wrangling in Halo. I’m a video game Wheelman for sure.
And I decided to implement that in Warzone. And as a role player, I steal the occasional dub.
Here is how to do it:
Learn the map better than your own home: You’re going to be driving everywhere and essentially you’ll be COD Uber. That means you have to know where to go and the fastest way to get there. Knowing the map also means knowing where the vehicles typically are because you’ll be..
You’ll be swapping vehicles when you have to: As the game progresses, players will start to get their artillery and they won’t be afraid of you anymore. This means you’ll be switching vehicles whenever your ride takes more than it can handle.
They hunt for money. You hunt for trophy systems: You won’t last without trophy systems to protect you from the explosives. Early in the game, when people are getting their money, you’ll also be keeping an eye out for trophy systems to get you into a ride as fast as possible. Without them, you can expect to be dodging RPGs and C4s the entire time and you can’t expose your team to that kind of risk.
Learn how to drive (and fly) everything: We would love to have a trophied up Cargo Truck from the jump but that’s not going to happen. Sometimes the only wheels will be an ATV. Sometimes it might be helicopter and you’d better know how to fly. Don’t worry. Before you know it, you’ll be right at home with everything.
Learn how to kill with every vehicle: Start practicing now. You must learn how to drive blind and kill people while in reverse. They’ll be waiting for you when you’re flying full speed right at them, they won’t expect you to kick it into “R” and roll over them. Learn how to operate an ATV at nothing less than full speed while zig zagging. You’ll essentially be a flying missile. And if you’re in the helo, remember, those rotors can kill.
Bonus: You’re not just a taxi. You’re a medic. You’re a makeshift cover from fire. You’re a “gas is coming” reminder. You’re a distraction. You’re everything that doesn’t involve shooting a gun. And you can’t do that dead. Keep your rear in the car.
