WWE favorite and soon to be member of the Star Wars Universe, Sasha Banks, could be seeing one of the biggest weekends in career over the next few days, as her original endeavor jumps back to it’s highest level, while her newest project prepares to dominate streaming well into November.
Banks, “The Legit Boss”, and Mercedes Varnato outside of the ring, won the WWE Smackdown title from Bayley at the Hell In A Cell Pay Per View on Sunday. While plans haven’t been announced yet for Smackdown this Friday on FOX, it’s already been announced that she’ll be taking on Asuka during the brand oriented Survivor Series next month. After a hiatus earlier this year, she’s again one of the top superstars on the WWE Friday night showcase.
And that’s not even the most exciting part of this weekend for Banks.
Season 2 of The Mandolorian will premiere on Disney Plus and Banks has a very mysterious role that has involved rumors of her being everything from a thief to a Jedi. It’s unclear how long the appearance will last or how extensive her role in this season will be, but she’s already benefited from the publicity surrounding the highly popular and Emmy nominated program in one of the biggest franchises in history.
Any screen time with Bayley on Smackdown or Baby Yoda on The Mandolorian is good screen time.
And while being a WWE Supestar is a career making feat within itself, having that cross over appeal could put her in the same conversation as other big stars like Dwayne Johnson and John Cena.
It’s going to be a big weekend for Banks and the hype is indeed “legit”.
