Camping World Stadium will once again be jumping on Saturday night, with College Football opening their season with the showcase game being played here in Orlando, as the Florida Gators take on the Miami Hurricanes.
Tickets are running for a couple hundred dollars (story HERE). ESPN will be broadcasting College Gameday from the Magic Kingdom. It’s all just so wonderful. Especially for our community.
This highly anticipated opener in addition to the multiple college bowl games we’ll be hosting in a couple of months, continues to reinforce Orlando’s standing as the College Football capital of the world. A phrase made famous by Mayor Buddy Dyer (story HERE).
Of course, I don’t have to tell you how great this is for the community. Both the Gators and Canes travel well and this means more tourism development tax dollars from hotel night stays that will flow right back into our tourism industry.
We just keep getting stronger.
And this is a good thing with $60 million dollars in renovations coming to Camping World Stadium (story HERE). We have to continue to draw as many of these high profile national contests as possible.
As far as the game goes, I’ll take the Gators by a touchdown.
And as far as the crowd goes, national media seems to be predicting a 50/50 split between Gators and Canes fans. No way. It will be 70/30 Gators. A lot of UF alum already living in Orlando.
Either way College Football is back and it’s kicking off here in Orlando. Great for football fans and great for Orlando.
