*This is an FTR classic review imported here well after the release of the movie*
“That wasn’t complete torture.”
That’s what I was saying after I turned off my TV following a screening of 12 Rounds Reloaded. The sequel to the action suspense film that helped make John Cena a star. This time we get another “ruthless aggression era star in Randy Orton. And Orton does what he has to here with a balanced performance that won’t win him any awards or cement his status as a movie star, but allows the audience to get behind him.
He plays Nick Malloy, who gets caught in the deadly game of a man pushed too far (Brian Markinson), who makes him complete these deadly challenges… for… wait for it..12 Rounds.
It’s not a good film. But its not B movie hell either. I watched it without getting mad. Director Roel Reine doesn’t keep us here longer than he has to at 94 minutes.
If you’re a fan of Orton, it might be worth a while. I’m a WWE lifer, so I enjoyed watching him get dramatic.
Otherwise, you might be better off watching one of his WWE Network specials
