Extended cuts of “Spiderman: Far from home” and “Midsommar” coming to Orlando movie theaters this weekend

One of the most crowd pleasing blockbusters of the summer, along with one of the most bizarre horror movies you’ll watch this year, will be back in Orlando theaters this weekend as “Spiderman: Far from Home” and “Midsommar” both get extended cut rereleases.

Far from Home followed on the heels of another Marvel Cinematic Universe smash. “Avengers: Endgame” successfully became the highest grossing film of all time. Tom Holland’s Spiderman does a great job lightening the mood of that heavy 3 hour film, with an enjoyable time that is both funny and heartfelt. The extended cut is promising a new action sequence, and with Spiderman’s status up in the air as Disney and Sony debate over his film rights, it could be the last time we see the wall crawler for some time.

Midsommar is not funny and heartfelt.

The Ari Aster follow up to “Hereditary”, follows a young woman who is struggling to recover from the death of her family and decides to visit a Swedish village with her college friends. The resident’s of that village happen to belong to a cult and the sequence of events that play out are both disturbing and just plain weird. I didn’t love Midsommar because it was too long and the horror might have been too “out there” to really appreciate. It does deserve a watch though, the material needs as much interpretation as possible because it’s very debatable. Just be ready for this even longer cut that is almost three hours.
