After Brady announcement, Tampa Bay must go all in to land legendary quarterback

This morning, six time SuperBowl champion, Tom Brady announced that “his football journey will take place elsewhere”, effectively ending his time with the New England Patriots.

It’s time for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to strike and put the whole league on notice that they’re serious about winning.

They have the money. They have the weapons at wide receiver. And they have the warm weather environment that could put Brady in a position to win immediately in friendly conditions. Bruce Arians also has enough experience to accommodate Brady, who will want to make a statement.

It’s a lot of pressure, but there is so much to gain.

As for Jameis Winston, the team has in a round-about way let it be known that they’re exploring other options by franchising Shaq Barret on the defensive end of the ball. The first 30 TD-30 INT quarterback has some interesting times ahead of him.

And as for the other options besides breaking the bank for Brady, or trying to keep Winston for less, they’re just not that impressive. Phillip Rivers has a lot of miles on him with no rings to show for it. Teddy Bridgewater is all over the radar. Everyone else is a band-aid fix at best.

The critics will certainly look back at this moment and chalk it up as a missed opportunity if the Bucs don’t move.

Let’s also look at the economic impact for the Bucs. Ticket and merchandise sales will increase. Tampa Bay will return to Sunday and Monday night match-ups. Fans will be more excited than they have in years.

The Bucs will be perhaps the most interesting story in the NFL since they last won it all years ago.

It’s time to go for it all and get the Tom Brady deal done.
