“Tiger King” nemesis Carole Baskin is trending because she’s the headliner on the next season of “Dancing With The Stars”

Hey all you cool cats and kittens.

You might have noticed Wednesday morning, that “Tiger King” nemesis (depending on your views) Carole Baskin was trending number 1 on social media. This is because she will be the headlining celebrity along with rapper Nelly and some others on the next season of “Dancing With The Stars”, it’s 29th.

Baskin rose to fame on the NetFlix smash hit when families were stuck at home during the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic and became aware of the wild, and at times unbelievable, story of Joe Exotic. Joe Exotic, who also ran for President, is currently in jail. Baskin has been subject to allegations on multiple items including the disappearance of her husband.

Reaction to the Baskin news was mostly negative and cynical. Many have dismissed her as another dimension of the outrageous documentary, while others wondered why ABC would add such a combustible element to a family show.

It’s not likely to be the end of opportunities for Baskin. NetFlix is currently exploring more ways to tell the lucrative Tiger King story and award winning actress, Kate McKinnon, is slated to play Baskin in an upcoming project.

Dancing With The Stars continues to be a reliable worker for ABC. Other celebrities scheduled to appear besides Baskin and Nelly include actress Anne Heche, basketball great Charles Oakley, and skater Johnny Weir.

Tyra Banks will be hosting after the departure of longtime host Tom Bergeron.
