Beware the team in the downward spiral, for they have nothing to lose.
That can be said about the 0-3 Atlanta Falcons, who are currently the joke of the NFL after blowing two big leads in the fourth quarter of their last two games against the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears.
They head to Lambeau on Monday Night to square off against the Green Bay Packers, who are being tabbed as the class of the NFC along with those scrappy Seattle Seahawks out west.
This just feels like a horrible trap.
Now, I have faith that Aaron Rodgers and head coach, Matt LaFleur, will be ready to go when kick off takes place down the road from where I publish this blog, but there are concerns.
Mostly the defense.
Mike Pettine’s crew came up big against the New Orleans Saints when they had to, forcing a Taysom Hill fumble to ice the game on Sunday night, but Matt Ryan is running out of patience quickly. He’s going to try to put up some big numbers quickly and his scoring hasn’t been the problem the first part of the season, it’s been the defense which has been problematic.
Take the over on the game for sure. But I digress.
As for the Packers, no doubt they’re already looking to week 5 against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That will also be a nationally televised, high profile contest, that could determine playoff seeding down the road. We’ll all be excited for that.
But don’t over look these Atlanta Falcons. Potentially playing for their season and their coach’s job on Monday night at Lambeau.
They’ll be ready to fight.
