Tonight, WWE Smackdown was on FS1 because of game 3 of the World Series, and it would be a shame if any antenna viewers missed any of the action because the “go home show” for “Hell In The Cell” provided some pretty impressive moments.
Sasha Banks and Bayley continued their top flight feud when Banks forced Bayley to sign the contract for their match by applying her submission hold through a chair. I really hope this will be the main event for Sunday and I hope they get the creative room to put on a first class contest because it will be absolutely wonderful.
Bianca Belair made her Smackdown debut against Zelina Vega and the match gave her the opportunity to showcase her skills as one of the best athletes in the company. Not just the women’s division. But the entire organization. Bianca performed a full overhead press on her opponent and Vega did a great job selling it all. I’m ready for Bianca to challenge whoever wins the Sasha vs. Bayley contest.
The Law and Otis segment gave us some comic relief as the Miz and Morrison took Otis to court for his Money In The Bank briefcase. JBL got in an appearance as the Judge. And Teddy freakin’ Long returned for some screen time. It entertained me, even if it wasn’t award winning television.
Finally, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso continued their great rivalry. Instead of talking about the great close between Jey, his brother Jimmy, and Reigns, I want to commend Paul Heyman who was testifying on Talking Smack after the show and turning up the heat on this awesome showdown.
I’m ready for Hell In The Cell.
