TV viewers everywhere are still missing Alex Trebek. The longtime host of Jeopardy passed away after a battle with cancer earlier this month.
On Thursday, the show released this posthumous message from Trebek wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving and giving us words of encouragement during these tough times.
“Happy Thanksgiving, Ladies and Gentlemen. In spite of what American and the rest of the world is experiencing right now, there are many reasons to be thankful. There are more and more people extending a helping hand to do a kindness to their neighbors and that’s a good thing. Keep the faith. We’re going to get through all of this. And we’re going to be a better society because of it.” Trebek says before moving on into the day’s episode.

No permanent host has been named to replace Trebek. After his final episode airs on Christmas, all time great player, Ken Jennings, will be the first of a series of interim hosts as the show continues it’s run.
If you’re like me, the message is a pleasant but bittersweet surprise on this holiday. Have a great afternoon everyone.
