AEW Dynamite had another great show tonight with it’s best angle leading the way. The continued erosion of The Inner Circle because of MJF.
The best part of the triple threat tag team was actually the team of Sammy and Hager. Which in a brilliant move was praised virtually by former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar. Both Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager were the highlights of this excellent main event that was pinched hard by TNT when they ran too long.
One event on the horizon that we’re all looking forward to/fearing is the wedding of Kip Sabian and Penolope Ford at Beach Break. Not because of the happy couple (even though they’re great), but because of what we’re afraid that menace, Miro, might do next. Or how Orange Cassidy is involved. The Trent the Butler twist worked as well as expected.
We do need to see more from the Women’s Division though. And it looks like we’re going to get that with a contender eliminator tournament. I was a fan of both the men’s eliminator tournament and the women’s tag tournament last year. I’ll be expecting some more good things here.
It was a neat curveball to have Jade Cargill run out and have us believe that Peter Avalon might beat Cody Rhodes. It will be fun to see where this is going.
And of course, there was Hangman saying “no” to my boys in the Dark Order. The party they had planned for him was hilarious. I really like all of these guys (and girl) and while Hangman is better as a singles player, let’s hope this isn’t the end of the road for this hilarious courtship.
I’ll be here again next week. And I know you will be too.
