During the SuperBowl Disney aired their latest trailer for “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” and like most of the stuff they’ve been up to over there at Disney Plus these days, it was pretty good.

There are a lot of people clapping their hands right now and saying it’s the return of the Avenger we know. Some knockdown, drag-out action with some of earth’s mightiest heroes. A return to normal, if you will.
These are mostly from fans that haven’t caught on to the slow burn of Wandavision. Which we always knew was going to be a different sell to traditional super hero movie watchers.
Instead of the mystery being built by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, they’ll appreciate the buddy cop chemistry from Sebastian Stan and Anthony MacKie (it’s also good to see Emily VanCamp back as well).
Both shows can and probably will be excellent. But it’s unlikely if we’ll ever find out which is more popular. Especially as the streamers tend to be very secretive about their numbers.
This is valuable data. I would also like to see how the demographics breakdown. Trends would say that it would be “Falcon” that should draw more viewers because of it’s up front formula but that’s not set in stone.
We know Wandavision already has a role in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, but Falcon could shape up the next time we finally see all of the Avengers together.
As for which show I’ll prefer, I was a big Captain American guy, but it was all about the heart each character has and the storytelling involved. I simply won’t know until after I’ve watched both and had some time to think about it.
