We’re off on another exciting season of The Bachelorette with Katie Thurston’s premiere bringing us a box, a cat, and a ball pitt (story HERE). The premiere was very safe and ensured that the audience would start having a good time and quickly forget any of the terrible events of the Matt James season.
But there were a few moments when things just seemed to get cluttered. That was during important events on the show when hosts Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams had to walk on to the frame with Katie. Like the limo intros and rose ceremonies.
It seemed a little crowded. Didn’t it?
Listen, I adore all three of these women. Katie was everyone’s favorite last year. Kaitlyn was a Dancing With The Stars champion, also last year. And Tayshia saved the Bachelorette last season when Clare Crawley fell in love during the first episode.
But the screen time should be staggered.
I like the idea of our Bachelor or Bachelorette being able to turn to single host and confiding in them during the tough moments. Two hosts rushing into the frame seems more like a rescue and that’s a little awkward.
Hopefully, producers will realize this and stagger Tayshia and Kaitlyn, even in post production. I know the former was crushing those Hyundai ads during the commercial breaks. Happy to see her get her money.
But the chemistry is just a little off. And I know this is uncharted territory with Chris Harrison’s absence, but it shouldn’t take multiple people to do his job. I think it just makes the void more apparent.
Tayshia. Kaitlyn. They’re both winners. Just give each of them the singles time they deserve.
