Ron DeSantis sending cops to the border is the latest piece in his 2024 presidential puzzle

On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that he will be sending law enforcement officers to the southern border to help Arizona and Texas with security.

While sending cops from Florida to help secure the border in another state may sound weird to the average person on the street, if you’re running for President in 2024 and want to continue getting a jump on what will be a competitive primary, you have to do it. That’s what we’re seeing here.

Nothing will play better for DeSantis, who is trying to secure former President Trump’s voters, than securing the border.

We’re talking about a guy, who cut a commercial building a wall with his kids during his last campaign.

And as for Nikki Fried and Charlie Crist, potential opponents for the Governor next year, Ron DeSantis’ approach so far is taking a page out of Jay-Z’s book. “I’m not looking at you, dude, I’m looking past you”.

And that’s 2024. Opponents of DeSantis will tell you it’s their job to stop him.

He’s going to be able to brag about this for the next four years in the circles that could get him a chance to challenge Joe Biden.

We also have to look at where these officers are coming from. Friendly territories.

From an Orlando point of view, I’m just happy he’s not pulling them from Orange, Osceola, or Seminole counties. Especially the first two, where we’ve had an outbreak of violent crime and street racing. When need our police here.

But this is about the 2024 campaign. It was a move that DeSantis had to make or it might have been used against him by opponents. “You could have helped, but you didn’t” they’ll say.

Whether you think it’s the right thing or the wrong thing will be determined by whether you want him to be President or not.
