Good news for AEW. And really good news for the 20 year old year old Julia Hart, the Varsity Blondes, and the growing House of Black featuring Malakai Black and Brody King.
They have fans waiting for story development.
More specifically, they’re waiting for a heel turn from Hart, who was sprayed in the face with the black mist and seems primed to turn on the blondes in what could be an early satisfying payoff from the feud.
The first rule of any TV program and especially wrestling. “Make us care”. And we are caring about this angle. At least that what’s social media told me when Hart was trending topically for wrestling fans over continued speculation of a turn.
And the angle involving Pac only makes it better.
Some other notes from tonight’s Dynamite.
Jon Moxley was inspirational in his return to the ring tonight. Everything he said was true. Everyone has demons or problems they have to deal with. You can’t quit.
Adam Cole and Britt Baker vs. Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander was a banger. I’m happy we got the back to back entrances from the former, and still had some chemistry from the latter. It was the best mixed tag I’ve seen in years.
A quick negative to balance things out. I’m still not a Dan Lambert fan.
CM Punk vs. MJF continues heading in the right direction.
Lance Archer vs. Hangman should be terrific.
Nice shot from Max Caster during the opening rap of that main event. It was also a fun match. You have to appreciate what Sting is doing right now. He’s 62 and jumping through tables.
