NBA: Cable sports TV ramps up for busy trade deadline

Expect the NBA trade deadline to dominate cable sports television for the next 48 hours, as competitive teams try to add the final touches to their rosters leading to a championship this summer.

It was a very busy Tuesday.

The Portland Trailblazers sent CJ McCullom to the New Orleans Pelicans for Josh Hart and others, which indicates a change of direction for a Portland team that hasn’t been able to clear the final hurdle to reach the NBA finals.

Some experts believe franchise player, Damian Lillard, could be next as the team considers a complete rebuild.

The Sacramento Kings sent young star, Tyrese Haliburton, to the Indiana Pacers for Domantas Sabonis in a six player deal that changes the complexion of both teams.

And we haven’t even touched the biggest potential trade of the deadline that could involve the Brooklyn Nets sending James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers for their embattled young star, Ben Simmons, who hasn’t played a game this season with a team that is expected to make a serious playoff push. Nets coach, Steve Nash, has pushed back against the speculation but analysts predict there is still a possibility of a deal getting done.

Expect both ESPN and FOX Sports to go down to the wire from morning to night with any developments that could occur.

And all of this is happening just days before the Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, which means they’ll be looking to keep their audiences well into next week.
