Spiderman: No Way Home is favored to win new Oscars “Fan Favorite” award

The Academy Awards needs a boost. And they believe the best way to do that is to bring the social media elements that often drag them before, during, and after their broadcast, and give them the opportunity to add their input into which films are recognized.

Enter the #OscarsFanFavorite and #OscarsCheerMoment honorees.

The Fan Favorite award is the audience’s favorite movie of 2021. The Most Cheer-Worthy Movie Moment is just that. The description says any cheer worthy moment leading to some confusion over whether it’s ever or just 2021.

But as for the former, it appears to be Spiderman: No Way Home’s to lose as Twitter wasted no time filling in the timeline with the biggest box office hit from last year. The film which brought together the Peter Parkers from multiple timelines and starring Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire is still shaking the box office charts months after it’s release.

Also making a lot of noise was The Justice League Snyder Cut. It’s unclear if it would qualify for the award despite being a rework of a movie that is a couple of years old.

Those who enter their picks on the Oscars Fan Favorite site could win a trip to the big ceremony.

And yes, my pick would be Spiderman as well.
