AEW Rampage: Max Caster rap with Putin diss edited out of broadcast

AEW Rampage aired tonight on TNT, and a rap from Max Caster of the Acclaimed was edited out of the broadcast, according to footage from fans in attendance, due to lyrics mentioning Russian President Vladamir Putin.

“Play with the Acclaimed, you’ve gotta be stupid. This guy is as popular as Vladamir Putin.”
said Caster just before his partner, Anthony Bowens, lost to Orange Cassidy in a “Face Of The Revolution” ladder match qualifier. The contest was the main event of the evening.

The Russian invasion of the Ukraine began on Wednesday. Initially, when the edited footage ran on TNT, the most edgy part of the dialog questioned why Orange Cassidy didn’t have any black friends.

Caster’s last controversial pre match rap had to deal with mental illness during the 2020 summer Olympics, when champion gymnast Simone Biles was struggling with a condition that kept her from competing in the Tokyo games.

Here are some of the tweets from tonight..

Caster began trending on Twitter under “wrestling” after the broadcast ended at 11pm EST.
