The Masked Singer: The dog’s freaking head fell off and the firefly almost suffocated during the premiere

The Masked Singer was back tonight, and the theme for this season was “The Good, The Bad, and The Cuddly”. After Nick Cannon and judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Ken Jeung made their way on stage, it was time for the fun to begin.

Except tonight was rather traumatic.

Thingamabob came out to a rousing rendition of “Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi. Judges thought he could be James Hetfield from Metallica or Chris Jericho (who was on TV at the same time on AEW Dynamite).

McTerrier, which was a dog wearing a kilt came out, and he’s freaking mask fell off. I’m not joking. After his performance, his dog head fell to the ground. It was clear he couldn’t see where he was going during the song. Luckily they were able to replace it and continue the show.

Next up was Cyclops, who gave us a solid performance of “Higher” by Creed. Jenny guessed William Zabka aka “Johnny Lawrence” from Cobra Kai. Nicole thought it was Danny McBride (The Mighty Gemstones). Robin thought it was Rob Dyrdek.

Firefly was up next and she started choking during her performance. Not metaphorically but literally. She could not breathe. And had to be escorted off stage. She would return later and performed “Ain’t Nobody” and did a fine job. Some guesses included Alicia Keyes and Monica.

The Ram was up next and he had one of the most intimidating costumes we’ve ever seen. And then he sang “I Want You To Want Me” by Cheap Trick. Yeah, against type. Ken Jeung thought he could be Super Bowl quarterback Matthew Stafford.

When the elimination came down it was McTerrier who had to go home and the celebrity was..

And it was pastry chef Duff Goldman.

I didn’t know who he was.

Anyways, Rudy Giuliani is still out there.

What did you think of tonight’s episode? Did you enjoy the more dramatic tone. We’re going to be getting more of it.
