Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed after Oscars: “I’d had whooped Will Smith’s @$$”!

The “slap heard around the world” or “the most insane moment in the history of the Oscars”, has crossed over into mainstream media that doesn’t even have anything to do with the realm of entertainment.

This includes morning sports talk TV.

If you’ve been living under a rock, or have been sleeping for 12 straight hours, let me quickly brief you.

During the ceremony, Chris Rock made a hair joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith, who suffers from alopecia, saying he was “looking forward to GI Jane 2”. Smith appeared to be laughing at the joke at first, but then walked on stage and slapped Chris Rock. He would curse at Rock from his chair for the next several moments. Audio was cut from the live broadcast.

This morning on Undisputed, host Shannon Sharpe did not mince words about what he saw.

“I’d had whooped Will Smith’s ass” he said and added “This was embarrassing to the highest degree”

His co host, Skip Bayless, questioned that thinking, citing what Denzel Washington told Smith during those tense moments on global television “In your highest moments the devil comes for you”.

Sharpe replied “I’m the devil. I’m coming for you.”

The two went back and forth. Sharpe continued making his case “I see you coming across the room at me. What do I think? You’re offering me a drink?”

We learned after the event that Chris Rock declined filing a report with the LAPD.

Sharpe continued telling us what he would do.

“No Charges. I’m going to get his ass.”
