A quick nod to our heroes from the fire departments of the greater Orlando area. Please read the announcement below from the Seminole County Fire Department, which was part of the Engine Strike Team 1501. Teams from the region have also deployed in the past to help out in other disasters such as the Sunrise building collapse.

As part of the Florida Statewide Emergency Plan (SERP) coordinated response to help protect the people and property in Bay County with the wildfires there, the Seminole County Fire Department was part of the Engine Strike Team 1501 deployed for assistance.

The Team consisted of:

Strike Team Lead – Orange County Fire Rescue Department
Engine- Orange County Fire Rescue
Engine- Seminole County Fire Department
Engine- St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department
Engine- Osceola County Fire Rescue
Engine- Canaveral Fire Rescue

The hometown heroes returned from a 5-day statewide deployment to Bay County (March 10, 2022). The crews assisted with structure protection, fire lines, and remained on standby to assist with any additional evacuations. Their efforts were a welcomed relief to Bay County residents impacted by the devastating wildfires, many of whom were displaced from their homes.
