Yes, you need to watch “Wandavision” before you watch “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness”

Listen. The film isn’t that great anyways (my review HERE).

But if you’re one of the masses heading out to the movie theater this weekend to see Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness then you need to watch “Wandavision” on Disney Plus first.

Or else you’re not going to know what the hell is going on.

The film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme features Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch played by (Elizabeth Olsen).

And Wandavision had a ton of story development regarding Wanda. The character does not exit the series the same way she goes into the show after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

If we’re being completely honest, you’ll probably like Wandavision better than Multiverse of Madness anyways.

Olsen was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy award for her acting work on what was the first Disney Plus live action show to handle the MCU after Endgame, and it came out as we were all fighting pandemic fatigue. It’s probably the best Disney Plus Marvel show.

It’s not terribly long either. You could probably binge watch it over a weekend.

This all comes back to consumer sentiment. I’m rather surprised more people aren’t mentioning this. While its counter intuitive for Disney to upsell their streaming service during a new movie release, they probably could have done themselves a favor with the suggestion resulting in more happy people coming out of the theater.

And if we’re being completely honest, you might have liked Wanda after the movies, but after the series she’s even more important.
