Tennis fans on social media were supportive of American tennis player, Coco Gauff, after the 18 year old fell to Iga Swiatek 6-1,6-3, in the French Open Finals.
Both Gauff and Swiatek had impressive showings at Roland Garros, but the latter is currently on a winning streak at the tournament many analysts are calling simply remarkable.
Still, fans are supportive of Gauff and hopeful for a prosperous return. There is also a mental wellness aspect for the show of support following cases of burnout among other young athletes such as Simone Biles and fellow champion tennis player, Naomi Osaka.
Let’s go to the tweets…
Coco Gauff is more than wise enough to know that there's no shame in crying.
And there is absolutely no shame in that defeat. Iga Swiatek is simply a level above everybody right now.
Gauff did good & she'll be back. Oh, will she be back. pic.twitter.com/T6cWFMP6cm

Coco Gauff may have lost but she went in as #18 playing #1, and the youngest woman to reach a grand slam final since 2004.
This is just the beginning. I’m excited for her. She’s gonna be great.
It’s hard watching her cry 😭

Can't imagine how tough it is to play your first Grand Slam final, let alone at just 18 years old. Coco Gauff has been incredible in this tournament and has so much to be proud of.
Swiatek is just a remarkable athlete. One of the best winning streaks I've ever seen in sport.

Coco has a lot to be proud of today. Not the outcome she wanted but to reach your very first grand slam final at 18 is no slouch. This won’t be the LAST time we’ll see her I’m sure of it. Plus she still has the doubles tomorrow ❤️🔥 @CocoGauff #RolandGarros pic.twitter.com/dDsGpvJyda
