Plan to recruit veterans into DCF jobs is another step to “getting us in the game”

Yesterday, Florida First Lady, Casey DeSantis announced an initiative that would recruit veterans into positions working for The Department of Children and Families.

The “Continue The Mission Initiative” is “a collaborative effort led by DCF and FDVA with other state partners, local veterans’ organizations and community groups. Together, the agencies will actively recruit veterans, military spouses and former law enforcement officers for flexible career opportunities in the child and family well-being system. They will also identify candidates to serve as mentors for children in need, new case managers and child protective investigators.” according the release.

It sounds like a fine plan.

This is because Florida continues having problems regarding military to civilian transition regarding veterans, and they need all of the opportunities to get them as many opportunities as possible.

We’ve seen other initiatives to get veterans into other fields such as logistics, nursing, and education, to fill critical shortages in important positions. This is another step in that direction.

“Get us in the game” I’ve said a lot over the past few years. This is doing just that.
