Fans of the 1830s period show “Gentlemen Jack” are organizing online trying to save the program, after HBO announced yesterday that it would not be renewing the show for season 3.

The current petition on Change.Org has just over 2500 signatures on its way to a goal of 5000 (you can sign it HERE).

“The series, written by Sally Wainright, tells the real life story of lesbian diarist Anne Lister and stars the phenomenal Suranne Jones and Sophie Rundle.” is the synopsis provided in the petition.

There is some hope for a renewal, just not on HBO. The program is co produced by the BBC and they’ve left the door open for a future collaboration.

What do you think? Did you watch Gentlemen Jack? Do you think it will get renewed?
