WWE: It’s okay to be cautiously optimistic about TV-14 change

The PG era appears to be over in WWE.

And shame on me, but I’m actually feeling a little optimistic for the return of the TV-14 era or whatever it was before.

Listen, I understand that the problem is with the booking and with creative, if you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know that.

But with the move away from the PG era and to TV-14 it gives the WWE more tools.

This is because wrestling, or good wrestling, has always been edgier adult oriented television.

Face it. If you were an Attitude Era guy, then you know the edgier stuff is what makes wrestling great. If you’re a golden age guy like me, you know Hogan, Sting and Flair bled plenty.

“Well, what about the kids?” some might ask.

Let parents worry about what their kids watch. And let WWE sell stuffed animals through their specific channels.

Wrestling greatness has been achieved through having as many avenues for entertaining an audience as possible. Yes, that includes blood, harsh language, and WTF TV.

That’s the product.

And let’s face it, WWE is a company in turmoil at the moment. We’re not sure what the creative process is right now. We just know that it’s bad.

Let’s see what they can do. It certainly can’t get much worse than what we’ve been getting whenever Roman Reigns or Liv Morgan isn’t on TV.
