The Real Love Boat: Surprises and despicable decisions makes for fun TV
After a fun, first week, The Real Love Boat was back with our couples spending time in Gibraltar, and while the “solid” jokes were in full effect, the show also hit a stride competitively and dramatically.
To kick things off, we had a challenge. A trek up a long, rocky path with checkpoints that featured uncomfortable questions and a number puzzle at the end. If the candidates weren’t truthful, they wouldn’t be able to solve the puzzle.
That was bad for self admitted “Player”, Jordan, who was put in a tough position with Nicole and had to admit he cheated on partners four times. Alisa also admitted to one mistake.
Then there was Brett’s history. Five lovers, with his first one at the age of 24. That raised some questions from Brooke.
But, that uncomfortableness paid off. They won the challenge and got the Love Boat suite and a special dinner.
And then Nicole reiterated that she wished she could switch Jordan for Daniel, who was with Shea. Nathan also wasn’t happy with Alisa.
Then Kendra showed up and the arrival of the 26 year old advertising executive meant that an additional woman was going home with the men in charge.
And Jordan actually fist pumped and invited her to a chat, followed by Nathan. Nicole knew she was in trouble.
Then the captain, bartender, and cruise coordinator (and once again where is the dating expertise here?) decided Nathan and Shea both like sports. Let them play sports together. That went nowhere. And then Jordan and Kendra also went on a spa date together and hit it off.
Finally, it was time for the sail away ceremony with the guys making the eliminations.
But not before.. it was announced that Brett.. would not be continuing on The Real Love Boat!
Umm. What? That man for real “popped smoke” on one of the nicest people on the show.
This left Brooke without an apparent ride to the next round.
Then the ceremony.
Marty picked Emily.
Daniel picked Shea.
Nathan picked Alisa.
This left Jordan with Kendra, Nicole, and Brooke. And he picked…Kendra.
But then, Dean, a model from *checks notes* Birmingham, Alabama arrived. And he saved Nicole.
Strictly on the merits of her attire.
Which kind of aggravated the pain Brooke went through. I felt bad for her. We all did.
But this was a great show. This program is moving in the right direction.
Some highlights:
“Bingo Ball” Jerry is winning here. Great job by Rebecca too.
“I have more of a longing for dogs than children” Brooke
“People have different mindsets of cheating. There is a scale.” Alisa.
And there is nothing wrong with Pizza and Chicken wings, Nathan. Handle your business
