ESPN College Gameday fans love Lee Corso. They’ve been watching him for a long time and he’s a regular part of their college football Saturday mornings.
But he’s also 88 years. While he’s doing better than most his age, viewers have still be worried with his workload this season.
This is why they were once again concerned when Corso left the Gameday desk during a segment. Fans were worried that he might have experienced an episode of some kind.
Fortunately, he returned to pick Notre Dame over Duke, dressed like a Leprachaun and dancing with the Notre Dame mascot. They were joined by Ken Jeung from the Masked Singer and everything appeared to be okay.
But fans still took to social media to voice their concerns
Don’t know what just happened on @CollegeGameDay, but Lee Corso just slurred his words to @KirkHerbstreit, and looked confused…😒
When the camera panned back, he was gone???🫣@espn @PatMcAfeeShow @ReceDavis, can you update us on what happened with Lee??? Hope and pray he’s… pic.twitter.com/LYNhAqxHv5

I wish ESPN would let Lee Corso retire with dignity. This is a damn shame.

Alright, who else searched “Lee Corso” on Twitter after he disappeared to see if he was okay just to see him reappear dressed as a leprechaun?

That was scary seeing Lee Corso disappear in the middle of the gameday picks, never been happier to see an old man walk on a set in a leprechaun outfit 😂

I don’t think I have ever been thankful to see Lee Corso dressed as a leprechaun before. Was worried when I turned on Gameday and he wasn’t on the desk. I can’t help feeling like this is his last year doing this.

In the last 5 years I’ve gone from cussing Lee Corso every time he’s on camera, to having massive anxiety when he’s unexpectedly missing.

Lee Corso left the #CollegeGameDay set abruptly and everyone was worrying if he was okay… turns out dude was changing into a leprechaun suit to make his Notre Dame pick lol pic.twitter.com/75MKcPXpEi

Serious question…did Lee Corso just have a stroke? He didn't seem "right" and then left the set. @CollegeGameDay

I absolutely love Lee Corso but it is actually cruelty at this point to keep him on TV.

This isn’t the first time this season that Corso has had viewers worried. It happened during opening weekend (story HERE).
While the concerns will likely continue, it raised awareness of the show. Corso began trending on social media after his disappearance.
What do you think of Corso’s continued work on Gameday? Let me know in the comments.
