Your Fantasy Football Digest 10/29/23: Week 8 Action

0900: Welcome to your Fantasy Football Digest for Week 8. Lets break down the questions I’m seeing for this week.

Joe Burrow Or Matthew Stafford?: ESPN and Yahoo have Burrow higher but he’s playing that San Fran defense and has been hurt. Stafford is up against the Cowboys, who can be just as dangerous. Both are on the road.

Answer: Burrow, the Niners may be slipping a tad after getting punched in the mouth by the Browns last weekend.

Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, or Desmond Ridder?: Ridder ranks highest on most sites and he’s playing a questionable Titans that is rumored to be shopping some stars. They’re certainly softer than the Lions or Colts.

Answer: Ridder

How much will snow affect Patrick Mahomes, as the Chiefs take on the Broncos?: It depends on how much snow we’re talking about. The worst of it is expected to be over by gametime (story HERE). And the Broncos aren’t very good.

Update: Mahomes also has the flu.

Answer: Start Mahomes

Aaron Jones (against Min) or Miles Sanders (against Hou)?: Jones hasn’t been dependable all season. But the experts have him unanimously ranked higher than Sanders, and the Texans defense is considered tougher than what the Vikings have out there at the moment. The Packers need to step on the gas or the Lions might out run them. They’ll need Jones for that.

Answer: Jones (reluctantly)

DJ Moore (against LAC) or Garrett Wilson (agains NYG)?: Moore is the unanimous pick from the experts despite the fact that he’s got Tyler Bagent throwing him the ball instead of Justin Fields. Garrett is at home (both teams are) but the Moore has to play well for the Bears to win in what should be a higher scoring game.

Answer: Moore

Brandon Aiyuk (against Cin) or Jaylen Waddle (against NE)?:
Aiyuk is unanimously ranked higher this week, although I also like Waddle in a division game with a chip on his shoulder after last week’s game against Philly.

Answer: Aiyuk, but both are good picks

Jordan Love (vs Min) or Dak Prescott (vs LAR): Love is under a lot of scrutiny and there are no easy answers. Dak has weapons, experience and is also unanimously ranked higher.

Answer: Dak Prescott

Romeo Doubs (vs. Min) or Tyler Boyd (vs. SF)?: Doubs must get involved today against a weaker Vikings defense that they’ve already beaten once.

Answer: Doubs

Jakobi Meyers (vs Det) or Chris Olave (vs Ind)?: Experts are split. Both of their QBs have got issues. Both are indoors. Meyers has found the endzone on a more regular basis though.

Answer: Meyers. Reluctantly

Nico Collins (vs Car) Jaylen Waddle (vs NE) or Garrett Wilson (vs NYG)?: Waddle is unanimously ranked higher. Nico has the most TDs. All the opposing defenses are vulnerable.

Answer: Waddle. The Patriots are the worst defense and the Dolphins are angry.

Jordan Addison (vs GB) or Calvin Ridley (vs Pit)?: Addison is universally ranked higher and playing against a slumping Packers defense without Justin Jefferson.

Answer: Addison, who has also found the endzone much more often.

Amari Cooper (vs Sea) or DeAndre Hopkins (vs Atl)?: Cooper has mostly the edge against the experts. DHop has slightly more receptions. Both of their QBs are suspect. Wow.

Answer: Hopkins is at home and has done more with less.

Atlanta DEF (vs Ten) or Detroit DEF (vs LV)?: Both opponents are having QB issues. Still, the Lions are much higher ranked and the Titans don’t even know who their QB is.

Answer: Detroit

1400:

Sam Howell is off to the races. Two TDs in the first half against the Eagles.

Jonathan Taylor also off to a fast start against the Saints.

And CeeDee Lamb has already found the endzone against the Rams.

1400: Will Levis is only rostered in two percent of leagues. Just thought I’d throw that out there while he’s currently trending #1 on social media because he’s carving it up.

1500:
Dak Prescott is dealing on the Rams. 3TDs, 225 through the air against the Rams.

Saquon Barkley showing some life after injury troubles. Only 78 yards but hopefully he can find the endzone.

We agreed that DeAndre Hopkins would be a smarter play today. He’s already got two touchdowns.

And AJ Brown has two TDs against the Redskins. Most of us have him in already.

15:55: Kirk Cousins had to leave the game due to an ankle injury according to the team. Others say its season ending although that’s very much unconcerned. He exits with 2TDs and 274 yards in the air.

16:00:

Jalen Hurts is lighting up. 4TDs for 318 for the Eagles against the Commanders. He joins Dak Prescott and Will Levis with 4TD games.

On the ground Taysom Hill has 2TDs, while Saquon Barkley breaks the century mark in yardage.

And DeAndre Hopkins has 3TDs from Will Levi. Remarkable.

Patrick Mahomes, who has the flu, is not fine. 231 yards with a pic.
Gus Edwards is the first legit RB to score 2TDs for the Ravens
And Ja’marr Chase has 100yds and a touch.
