And the original tweet from NBC’s Steve Kornacki citing the poll done between NBC/Des Moines Register/Mediacom IA GOP caucus poll (conducted 10/22-26).

Given her strength w/ indies, to expand her support further and actually challenge Trump in IA, Haley will need to build appeal w/ core GOP voters and even some Trump backers. Keep in mind, though, that indies play a much bigger role in NH, and that SC comes shortly thereafter adds Kornacki.

The news comes as Haley formerly filed for the Republican Presidential primary in South Carolina, where she served for two terms as Governor.

Former Vice President Mike Pence suspended his campaign over the weekend, his 2% support in the polls was reallocated to the respondent’s second choice.

Haley’s recent messaging has centered around protecting Israel in their war against Hamas and more efficient economic policies than the existing administration in the White House or “Bidenomics”.

The Iowa caucus is set for January 15th. While Trump holds the lead in the polls, many conservatives are concerned about his electability in a head to head match up against Joe Biden next year with several legal cases pending.
