Jordan Travis supporters jab CW for showing gruesome injury too often

In one of the most tragic injuries to a young star in the college football season up to this point, Florida State quarterback, Jordan Travis suffered a painful looking injury to his left leg in the first quarter of the Seminoles 58-13 win over North Alabama.

While Travis’ status remains unknown, viewers took to social media to object to how many times the injury was shown on the CW broadcast. The CW began airing games for the ACC this season, and the showcase of the #4 Seminoles was there biggest contest yet.

There were plenty of fans that actually preferred CW coverage of the game to some other smaller networks and were having fun with tuning into the green brand, where one might usually find super hero shows and teen romance dramas instead.

But there was some frustration over the Travis injury…..

That sucks for Jordan Travis, but I’ve never seen a TV network focus that long on a gruesome injury. CW Sports was like “nobody knows us, hold the camera there”. pic.twitter.com/manAIe23hF

Am I the only one who thinks it’s a little messed up how much of Jordan Travis’ injury the CW showed? Like damn give that man some space to process his emotions, we don’t need a close up of him in the ambulance

CW Network. Could you please stop showing the injury to Jordan Travis. Your producers are idiots.

Respectfully CW, stop pointing cameras into the ambulance. Dudes in a lot of pain, there’s a reason they usually have tents and stuff. Give Jordan Travis a little privacy

The CW certainly isn’t the first network to receive criticism for showing tough injuries, every network showing professional sports has to make the decision of how to deliver the information, while finding a balance between thorough coverage and consideration for the athletes. And they likely won’t be the last.

And the green brand is ramping up there sports coverage. They’ve negotiated rights the WWE NXT, which is another sport where injuries are a constant reality.
