Wednesday Midday Trends 7/3/24: Eddie Murphy, Kamala Harris, Lakers
Your Wednesday midday trends for July 3rd are all over the map with social media users and the search engines digging up movies, politics, and high profile sports.
The Return of Axel Foley
The heat is on once again Beverly Hill Cop: Axel F, landing on Netflix. This is the first time we’ve seen Eddie Murphy playing the funny detective that plays by his own rules in 30 years, and the fourth time overall, after two solid outings, and a dreadful third movie. Many viewers will spend part of their Fourth of July holiday ensuring this is the most recent memory they have from the Beverly Hills Cop universe.
Kamala Harris could replace Joe Biden if he doesn’t run again
The White House can’t shake President Joe Biden’s poorly received debate performance from last week, as speculation picks up that if he decides not to run again, it would be Vice President Kamala Harris that would step in and challenge Donald Trump. Biden supporters have waived off a switch being made.
LeBron to stay in LA to play with son
LeBron James isn’t going anywhere. The future Hall of Famer has signed a two year deal worth about $104 million dollars to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers. This will ensure that both Lebron, and his younger son, Bronny will be playing on the same team this year. This also could be the last major contract that James signs in his storied career. He is 39 years old at the time of publication.
