There was one scene in this week’s episode of “Bad Monkey” that I couldn’t shake. It wasn’t a huge scene but it also felt like it served a purpose. Let’s talk about it, so if I’m right later then I can pretend that I’m smart.

The scene in question is when Dr. Israel O’Peele is calling Eve Stripling on the phone do discuss Yancy’s visit.

Our scheming widow tries to comfort O’Peele by reminding him that Yancy isn’t even a real cop, which O’Peele already knows.

But then somethings strange happens.

Eve starts to choke on her food. And It’s like a moment. Not something thrown in for comic relief or something like that. This moment serves a purpose.

Eve states it’s a dangerous habit after she’s cleared the blockage.

We’re talking about this scene because it looks like showrunners are setting up Eve for some kind of accident.

It shouldn’t be surprising if she chokes on something and dies. Especially after that last minute twist that I’m not going to spoil here.

Where is Heather with the Weather?:

Another subtle story turn in “Bad Monkey” was with a character that has made herself the most dislikable person on the show with a single scene.

The two faced Heather with the Weather, news broadcaster. This week she didn’t show up for work. Once again, there was an emphasis on her absence that stuck out with the main storyline.

Why introduce this angle if you’re not going to do something with it?

In her one seen, Heather cursed out Rosa’s sister in a way that felt almost unreal in the workplace.

Bad Monkey not only has the main story with Yancy and Neville on each branch, but a bunch of smaller issues with supporting characters.

These are two scenes from this week’s episode to keep an eye moving forward.
