Why Woo is the worst Clifton Strengths Theme

If you’re here, there is a chance that you’ve taken the Clifton Strengths assessment and got Woo as your main theme.

I’m sorry. Woo is the worst Clifton Strengths theme.

I know this because I’m a Woo. And it’s gotten me nowhere.

Woo stands for Winning Over Others. Let’s go over the summary on the Gallup site.

People exceptionally talented in the Woo theme love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over. They derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection with someone.

Yeah. It’s junk. At least in the business world.

The truth is that when it comes to business, there are no guarantees that you’re going to win anybody over when it comes to meeting your objectives. Your customers. Your clients. They can all like you but it doesn’t always translate into success.

Because at the end of the day, your product or service still has to perform and it has to make more sense than the competition. Woo does nothing to change those hard facts.

In fact, I think Woo is the softest Clifton Strength in the entire system.

I remember looking at all of the other themes. How great would it have been to get Focus or Strategic? These are hard themes that can help you accomplish true greatness.

Not this Woo fairy dust.

It’s funny. I find myself pushing away my Woo theme. I also did well with Command. While that’s just a kind way of saying pushy and scary, it’s a lot better than allegedly winning over others.

Forget the Woo. It’s useless. And if used insincerely it’s two faced.

I’m ashamed I got it.
