Only Murders in the Building: Parkour and Psychosexual Manipulation
Wow, the second episode of season four of Only Murders in the Building titled “Gates Of Heaven” really springboarded off of solid season premiere to take us deep into the mystery of Sazz’s killer.
It really went HAM. If you know what I mean.
But before we get into the recap, we’ve got to talk about how great Jane Lynch was here. We already know she can act and carry a project, but her tone here was just perfect. From the retro Brazzos video, to her one on one talks with Charles, it both makes me sad that Sazz is gone and fuels me to hope our heroes find her killer(s).

Yes, we met the “Westies” which featured the legendary Richard Kind and the terribly overexposed Kumail Nanjiani, in what should be some fun parts moving forward.
But we also had the return of the excellent Melissa Ryan aka Jan. Who escaped from prison using parkour and psychosexual manipulation, and snuck into Charle’s apartment to tell him she was worried about Sazz and to warn him that someone else might want to kill him besides herself.
Charles was already in distress, hallucinating Sazz and having imaginary conversations with her, which really was the backbone of this episode. We also saw the return of.. ahem, Oscar winner Da’vine Joy Randolph as detective Dee Williams.

The big question marks are what’s going on in the Dudenoff place? They had the pig escape the apartment. There was a ham radio in there. It seemed like a really strange place.
It feels like we haven’t met Sazz’s killer yet. They have to be a sniper and they have to be working with someone else.
We also completely left Hollywood behind. Which is being true to the show. But I hope we had some money leftover for a little bit of that all star cast from the premiere.
