MTG Mono Red Man: “Flame Rift” burns so good
Intro: Flame Rift is everything I love about playing mono red. It’s cheap. It’s powerful for the price we’re paying. And it makes an impression. Flame Rift is the reason many of us start playing Mono Red to begin with. It doesn’t get easier to follow, than shooting a fireball in everyone’s face.
What the card actually says:
Flame Rift deals 4 damage to each player

Analysis: For only two mana you’re dealing “rude” damage to everyone at the table. The earlier you play it, the better because it’s making an impression. I can’t guarantee if its a good one or a bad one, that depends on your situation, but it will get you some attention. It’s also a great card to get you over the finish line.
How it makes you feel when you play it: It feels great. Ideally, you’ll want a first turn Sol Ring and dish out the damage right off the bat. If you’ve got a commander like Krark the Thumbless or Imodane the Pyrohammer, you can potentially double the damage, or get another spell to burn even more during the turn.
Conclusion: Its a great card. And if you’re playing mono red for the reasons that we’re all playing mono red, then its a must have in your deck given how little it costs.
