Only Murders in the Building: S4 E4 Let’s talk about Bev Melon and the gun

This week’s episode of Only Murders in the Building ended on a cliffhanger as our trio stumbled into a building on Sazz’s old property to find Bev Melon (Molly Shannon) the producer of their movie, holding a gun and potentially preparing to shoot them with it.

Let’s get to the point. I don’t think Bev killed Sazz. If fact, I still don’t believe that we’ve met our killer.

Then what’s she doing?

It’s possible that the weapon she’s holding is a stunt weapon that Sazz used at work. It could be that she’s doing some research from the movie and scouting a location.

She really could just be joking.

“Don’t move or I’ll blow your f***** brains out”???

It wouldn’t surprise me if Bev starts the next episode off with a laugh. If not, its really clunky writing to end an outing.

If not, maybe she’s trying to unravel a personal mystery of her own the death of the beloved stuntwoman.

But I don’t think she killed anyone.

There was also the Paul Rudd return:

Listen, I’m not going to say no to a Paul Rudd return. But anybody who’s leading with a big return line is just click baiting.

If it had actually been Ben Glenroy then we’d have a whole other conversation to march through but that wasn’t the case, it was Glen Stubbs, his stunt double with an Irish accent.

The whole thing was fine.

And really, that’s what the last couple of episodes have been. OMITB may have set the bar too high with the first two episodes of season four which weren’t just fine, they were great and very heartfelt at times.

I’m worried that we’ve lost ourselves in the increasingly strange westies and guest stars.

Let’s see what happens next week.

What did you think of the episode? Let me know in the comments.
