If SMG wants the Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot, let’s do it

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is one of my favorite television programs of all time. And for those who are in their 30s,40s or even 50s, if they were able to traverse the silly title and concept, then it’s probably one of theirs too.

But this Buffy The Vampire Slayer Funko Pop on Amazon HERE

This is because ‘Buffy’ was a pretty all inclusive experience. Sarah Michelle Gellar was a true television action heroine. And the sequences were among the best action scenes on TV during the time, despite the back lot cost reduction filming methods.

The dialog is still talked about to this day. And the drama was real. Buffy’s most powerful episode had to do with the real life concept of losing someone close to you in a very real way.

Enough praising. We’ll be here all day.

Listen. I hate reboots and reimaginings. Buffy seemed to be outside of the reboot conversation. And I’ve been opposed to it.

But if Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, wants to do it, then we need to take a good look at the possibility.

Gellar knows the character is her legacy. And I know she’ll take good care of it. We can trust her to deliver a good product.

And that’s a good thing because the rest of the industry would likely fumble it. They would blurt it out on a streamer and it wouldn’t even register a tremor, let alone the quake that Buffy would have had if social media existed during the WB and UPN eras.

While we’re at it, lets get Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters too. Give ole’ David Boreanaz a call and see if he could Angel could take time out from the safe network dramas. Let’s go Cobra Kai with this thing and embrace everything we loved about the original mythology.

And don’t forget the opening.

We could have some great fun with this.

But only if Sarah wants it to work.
