Severance: Five Take Aways from the Christmas Sneak Peek

In an unexpected but much welcomed, Christmas gift, Apple TV released the first eight minutes of the second season of Severance last night. This is an unusual move by the tech streamer because after almost three years, this is one of their most anticipated releases of 2025.

But it happened. Let’s chop it up.

It’s not Severance but it’s Meta Quest with Batman and Arkham Shadow on Amazon! Buy it HERE!

There has been a time jump and the “innies” won: After Mark’s sprint through the office, Milcheck tells us that it’s been five months. And the innies, were able to exploit what happened to them to the rest of the world, according to the newspaper. “The face of severance reform” it says.

Milcheck is in charge now: “Ms. Cobel is no longer with this company” Milcheck says as he walked into his new office. And it appears they’re throwing Cobel under the bus with their “throuple” explanation.

There is a new team: Before we get to the office, we meet Mark’s new team, which includes another older man named Mark, who asked him to use a different name to avoid confusion, and a gentlemen who spoke only Italian.

The old team didn’t want to comeback and contact is “not possible”: The preview ends with the revelation that only Mark wanted to come back to Lumon (its possible that he wants to find his Ms. Casey, his wife). After he demands to speak with the old team, Milcheck smirks and tells him that’s not possible, which opens up another dozen questions.

Can we trust anything we’re seeing right now?: Paranoia is to ‘Severance” what gas is to an automobile. We can’t trust Milcheck. We can’t trust this new team. We really can’t even trust what Mark is seeing.

I can’t wait for the rest of season 2! Merry Christmas
