Squid Game: Why you should take the lottery ticket over the bread
Squid game is back, and boy did it come out of the tunnel at full speed, with Seong using his hard earned fortune to conduct a private manhunt for the recruiter of the games.
When we catch up with the recruiter, he stops by a store and buys bags of bread, then stops by another store and buys a long roll of lottery tickets.

He then goes to a park where there is a large group of homeless people and he offers them a choice.
A single lottery ticket? Or a bread roll?
We begin to watch the majority of the people he approaches select the lottery ticket. And we notice many of them lose. There may have been a winner or two but we don’t see it. And if there was a big winner, they certainly would not have left that out.
I gotta tell you, if I had a similar dilemma, I would have taken the lottery ticket. Here is why.
Listen, a roll of bread would be fine. If you’re absolutely starving, then it could save your day.
But think about it. While the roll of bread would satisfy you for a few hours, it would only be that. A few hours.
A lottery ticket could change your life, Or even give you just enough to get back on your feet.
And the opportunity to get a roll of bread could come that very same day. Maybe you find some change and can wrangle up a enough for a meal.
You won’t however be able to find a new life with that bread roll.
We watch the recruiter destroy the food to teach the group a lesson, to wrap up the experiment.
It wouldn’t have bothered me. Taking the lottery ticket over the bread is a choice we should always make.
