NFL: Forget the haters, Eli Manning is easily a first ballot Hall Of Famer
Goodness. A lot of grouchy NFL “fans” voicing their objections to the announcement of the Hall Of Fame Class of 2025 finalists, which include a two time Super Bowl Champion quarterback, Eli Manning. These announcements used to be a happy occasion.
The issue is that many don’t believe Eli Manning should be a first ballot Hall Of Famer.
Those opinions are wrong. Eli Manning is an easy selection for a first ballot Hall Of Fame selection.
Let’s go over the resume items first.

He’s a two time Super Bowl Champion, beating the best quarterback of our generation in Tom Brady while winning those rings. As an NFL overall first pick draft selection, he has more 300 year passing games than anyone else that has played the toughest position in sports.
And now, what I think is his most overlooked dimension as a player, all 16 seasons were played with the New York Giants. Including 210 consecutive games.
You don’t think that belongs in the Hall Of Fame? Surviving a 16 year sentence in the pressure cooker of the most intense media market in the world, while winning two championships and not going to another team?
Tom Brady didn’t do that. Aaron Rodgers didn’t do that. Eli’s own brother, Peyton Manning didn’t do that. Neither did Montana, Marino or Favre, if you want to go mult generational with your criteria.
We overlook Eli because he wasn’t flashy. He hosted Saturday Night Live and did a couple of funny ads. But he’s not a “showtime” guy.
He is most certainly a Hall Of Famer though. And we shouldn’t let the murky waters of anonymous hater accounts on social media diminish his climb to greatness. He was awesome.
And he deserves recognition for that.
What do you think? Does Eli Manning belong in the Hall Of Fame? Let me know in the comments.
