Dexter Resurrection: Bringing back Harrison is an awful idea
As you may have heard by now, Dexter Morgan, our favorite serial killer of serial killers is not dead. And we’re getting Dexter: Resurrection that will bring back some main cast, including Michael C. Hall as our title character, David Zayas as Angel Batista and James Remar as Harry Morgan.
And yes, Jack Alcott, as Harrison Morgan.
This post shouldn’t be interpreted as a diss on Alcott. In the awful Dexter: New Blood, he did as he was written. He was obnoxious and got in the way of screen time for characters that we actually cared about.

But Harrison Morgan is a really unlikable character, and I’m confident that a lot of Dexter fans would feel the same way.
It’s still early, and we still have another Dexter show, Dexter: Original Sin playing out on Showtime. But Dexter showrunners need to take a good look at what actually worked. It’s getting to the point that the bad is outweighing the good.
They need to focus group Harrison Morgan and be sure that they’re not actively taking steps to sabotage yet another attempt to try to keep this franchise going.
The problem they’ve been having is that they’ve forgotten what we really enjoy from this show. It was the suspense. Watching Dexter sneak around and try to conceal this double life. How that would play into a new show where everyone already knows who he is, moves into unknown territory.
But I can tell you, it’s hard to determine how a whiny Harrison, who for all intensive purposes ruined the last series, is going to help.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

I thought New Blood made up for a lot of Dexter’s flaws. The show is nonsensical as a whole even more so than the original books, but in New Blood, Dexter wasn’t the ever arrogant hypocrite he always was.
Sure Deb was there being still the the most annoying character in television history but just another hallucination yet still highly painful acting wise when her voice is raised.
Dexter is an idiot and a fraud with every episode being formulaic and predictable. New Blood still was quite predictable but not like the original show was. Having an idiot always win because he’s a hypocrite is amusing but redundant,
Resurrection isn’t going to ruin everything as Original Sin has. It’s still a rotten cash crab but these people can’t find work elsewhere and showtime never had good shows outside of Yellowjackets.
The lack of Matthews in OS was glaring and they destroyed many narratives with unnecessary forced fluff. The show’s best character In Brian, we don’t need to see that garbage. Let the best character that a mystery.
Brian looks pathetic in OS unlike in Dexter where he was the best villain and character. They force everything and ruin story. That’s Dexter. He should’ve stayed dead: the only way it ends. It should not hey we need more money, yay! Hali is responsible for this endure he was sick of broadway. Disturbing:
Nobody will cast Hall outside of broadway and films nobody cares about so why not another cash grab? Sickening.
