Watson: After the premiere, its possible Sherlock Holmes is alive
CBS premiered “Watson” this week, in the enviable post AFC Championship Game spot, and the Morris Chestnut medical mystery drama, features him as John Watson, who is trying to move on with his medical practice months after the death of Sherlock Holmes.
Only, there is no serious reason to think that Sherlock Holmes is indeed dead.

This is because in the final scene of the “Watson” premiere, we learn that Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty (played here by Randall Park, in unusual but really interesting casting when you think about it) is alive.
If Moriarty is alive, then it’s very likely that Holmes is alive. We’re talking about a fall where two of the three victims have been discovered to have survived.
You’ll recall that at the end of Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, Holmes fakes his death at the end. Robert Downey Jr shows up at the end of the film, to type a question mark, leaving just the slightest crevice for that Watson (Jude Law) to determine that he might still be alive.
All of this is of course, the carrot on the end of the stick. CBS has already done Sherlock Holmes with “Elementary”.
Actually, introducing Sherlock Holmes into this show would be a bold move and almost an injustice to Morris Chestnut, who is going to have to do some heavy lifting to keep this show interesting.
An interesting tell, would be if they started doing flashbacks. The Holmes in me is thinking that is a likely route for the show.
