Paradise: Here is why “Sinatra” is called Sinatra
Hulu has released the first three episodes of “Paradise” and the show certainly isn’t what it appears to be. While Sterling K. Brown is excellent so far as Secret Service Agent, Xavier Collins, this post is about another character, the most interesting character on the show. “Sinatra”, the mastermind of this entire operation.
Julianne Nicholson is doing some fantastic acting, that is showcased in the Sinatra-centric second episode titled “Sinatra”. During that episode we learn how she got that nickname.
“It’s because you’re the leader” one of the other characters tells her.

If you’re younger than 30 then indeed, Frank Sinatra, the legendary singer and leader of “The Rat Pack” might be before your time. No problem. That’s why you’re here.
My first guess when I heard the nickname was because she always did things “My Way”. Yeah, that’s a big Frank Sinatra song. Bon Jovi even cut a lyric on “Its My Life”.
“Like Frankie said I did it my way” says the song. That’s only 25 years old. (Goodness, I’m old).
And if you’re interested in knowing Sinatra’s actual name, she’s called Samantha by one of her fellow power players later that episode.
Indeed, she’s a wonderful character and her origin story, the tale of a techie turned billionaire, who loses a child, and is the only one to heed the warning of world ending climate crisis, is excellent television.
We’re not completely sure who the “big bad” is yet. Episode 3 gives us a turn, which I’ll leave out here because you might be asking yourself this question before you learn who that is.
But I’ll be watching “Paradise” to see how Sinatra’s story continues. Excellent drama.
