Paradise: Here are all of the Die Hard references from S1 E6

Paradise on Hulu is off and running with a wild thrill ride that really hit it’s stride in episode 6, when Xaiver and his allies finally took the fight to Sinatra.

And they did it while citing one of the best action movies of all time. Die Hard.

The 1988 Bruce Willis classic has plenty of classic moments. But for this post, we’re going for the specific Cal Bradford inspired moments.

First, let’s talk about the “Ho, ho, ho, now I have all of the guns” note left behind for Sinatra at the armory.

Here is the scene from Die Hard…

Cal also says Xavier would appreciate Hans Gruber, played by the late, great Alan Rickman, who actually is a tough villain, formidable of starring in this classic…

And finally we get to one of the coolest final kill quotes in all of cinema. “Yippee ki yay”..mother…

Paradise is continuing it’s run of great pop culture references, from it’s choice of “Eye of the Tiger” and “Here I go again”, to even bringing up old sports moments like the Christian Laettner sinking the shot against Kentucky while playing for Duke (which I also posted about HERE).

Heck, Samantha, or as you’ve come to know her Sinatra, is named after the legendary singer.

Really, Xavier running a covert raid against Sinatra is some real “Die Hard” stuff in the tradition of a lone rebel trying to topple a much more powerful enemy.

And if by some chance you haven’t seen “Die Hard”, grab the adult beverage of your choice and watch it when you can.

What did you think of the episode? Let me know in the comments.
